NCCAM will soon release a second video in its series The Science of Mind and Body Therapies. Here is a sneak peak of the 15-minute video that will feature yoga from a scientific perspective.
The video will include:
- A look at innovative technology that examines how older people use their muscles and joints in certain yoga postures. (George Salem, Ph.D., University of Southern California)
- A rigorously designed study that shows yoga may benefit people with chronic low back pain, a common and difficult-to-treat problem. (Karen Sherman, Ph.D., M.P.H., Group Health Research Institute)
The first video from this series, Tai Chi & Qi Gong for Health and Well-Being, was launched September 2010.
