NIH Panel Issues Consensus Statement on Acupuncture

A consensus panel convened by the NIH concluded there is clear evidence that needle acupuncture treatment is effective for postoperative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting, nausea of pregnancy, and postoperative dental pain. See also, the NIH Consensus Statement on Acupuncture.
St. John's Wort Study Launched

The first U.S. clinical trial of St. John’s wort, an herb widely used in Europe to treat depression will be a 3-year study sponsored by NIH’s Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM), the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS).
