Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture in the Science of CAM
Chinese Medicine, Western Science, and Acupuncture

This March 10 lecture was the inaugural lecture of the Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture in the Science of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Sherwin B. Nuland, M.D., Clinical Professor of Surgery at Yale University and distinguished author presented the first lecture.
NCCAM's 10th Anniversary Research Symposium: Exploring the Science of Complementary and Alternative Medicine
Date: Tuesday, December 8, 2009
Time: 9:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
Location: Masur Auditorium
The symposium, the signature event celebrating NCCAMs 10th anniversary, will highlight exciting areas of science, framed within the key priority areas of natural products and mind-body medicine. Registration is not required for the symposium. More information about the Symposium.

Banners
When visiting the NIH Campus, look for NCCAM's 10th anniversary banners. They will be displayed between January and December 2009. Click here to view banner locations (circled in red).
NIH MedlinePlus Magazine
NCCAM will produce a 6-page section on complementary and alternative medicine for MedlinePlus Magazine, a periodical published by the Friends of the National Library of Medicine. The magazine has broad reach to patients and physicians (100,000 issues are distributed to doctor's offices around the country).
Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Focus on Research and Care Newsletter
The NCCAM newsletter has a new name and a new face. It is being expanded and redesigned in 2009 to include 16 full-color pages, with patient education pull-outs. The newsletter will be published three times a year.
